Summer was a learning time for me. Every other summer when
school ends, the camera seems to collect dust and I take a break from shooting
and printing. This summer was quite the exception. I was very familiar with working
in a dark room and printing my images by hand. I was not familiar with client-based
work, and shooting with my digital camera to the client's specifications. So this
was for sure a growing time. I worked for Clemson University Student Affairs
shooting anything from graduation photos to portraits for various groups on
campus. At the end of the summer I realized I had really learned how to use my digital
camera, and learned the little details by making mistakes and moving forward. I
got to take that knowledge into helping shoot a wedding in North Carolina for
some close family friends. I realized a little bit about myself and I it
has followed into my own personal work. I value capturing people on camera, and
telling something about them. I am continuing to work for the school, doing
small shoots here and there.
